This Beautiful little Strawberry Quartz cluster was discovered in Kazakhstan.
More specifically this specimen was found at the remote locale of Shakyrtaz plateau , near the Uzbekistan border close to Chimkent city in Southern Kazakhstan. It weighs 9.124 grams / 45.62 carats and measures 28.11mm x 20.09mm x 17.42mm. The cluster appears to have been oiled or coated with a transparent lacquer; essentially polished without use of abrasive tools. It may be possible to remove this coating, perhaps by soaking the specimen in acetone and scrubbing it with a brass brush..? I like it just the way it is because the natural growth patterns on the crystal faces are still visible and the cluster is lustrous. This awesome little strawberry cluster has excellent color and good translucency. The color can appear lighter or darker than what is shown depending upon indoor / outdoor light settings. Watch the Video for a better idea. This strawberry quartz is an ideal size to be used in a pendant, or simply displayed among other fine mineral specimens. I currently have this one on the top shelf of my display case sitting among other miniature crystals. This cluster is comprised of 9 crystals all interlocked. I notice a little bit of faint smoky phantoms inside of some of these crystals. This piece is a classic example of the highly sought authentic Strawberry Quartz from Kazakhstan.
