This Vivid golden yellow Heliodor crystal comes from the scarce locality of Marimbaia, Padre Paraiso, Minas Gerais, Brazil. It weighs 1.909 grams / 9.545 carats and measures 18.88mm x 9.26mm x 6.11mm. This is an incredible and valuable thumbnail size display specimen with excellent clarity and awesome stretched geometry. The crystal in this listing originally came from a non-famous collector, who like myself, strives to get the best quality crystals regardless of size. This fine crystal glows with a distinctive golden yellow saturation, which is highly sought and rarely seen in beryl. The termination is complete with fancy bevels. There is some slight concoidal modification from natural contact, (see photos 2,3 & 7). The color deepens when viewed through the C-axis. The luster is glassy, and the clarity is gem transparent with minimal inclusions. This phenomenal prismatic Heliodor crystal has been in my collection since the early days. The combination of shape and color is reminiscent of imperial Topaz and golden yellow Apatite. This one really sets a high standard for not only thumbnail size crystals, but for heliodor beryls in general. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
