This Amazing Aquamarine display crystal was discovered in Minas Gerais Brazil, probably around 1980. The bottom of this crystal is lightly etched / healed. The top has been Polished because the crystal was cut. The original top portion was cut into a valuable gemstone; with the remaining crystal preserved as a display specimen. The bottom of this piece is naturally healed / lightly etched with the original iron staining. My colleagues and I all agree that this crystal most likely came from the region in which the famous Dom Pedro Aquamarine was discovered. Unfortunately this crystal suffered the same fate as the Dom Pedro. It has the most distinctive Santa Maria Blue and Green that I've ever seen in a Beryl. This specimen stands as proof that Natural unheated Aquamarine from Brazil can easily be some of the most beautiful beryl in existence. This Aquamarine weighs 60 grams / 300 carats and measures 55.88mm x 24.97mm x 23.01mm. The green saturation is more prominent in outdoor lighting, and the blue appears darker under indoor incandescent light. This crystal is transparent with inclusions, and the C-axis is open. We normally do not collect polished crystals. In fact, this is the only polished aquamarine crystal we've ever owned. It came from the estate of a longtime rockhound and collector of fine minerals & gemstones. He was a cutter too. This type of Aquamarine is scarce and rarely seen on the market today due to being so highly sought after. A lot of the true Santa Maria Aquamarine has been cut into gemstones / cabochons. There are interesting striations and box-style etchings that lightly cover the natural prism faces of this specimen. Metaphysically this particular Aquamarine is an excellent choice. It is an empathic warrior crystal, and it is also a great tool for Keynote speaking. Personally I've found it to be helpful with aligning my voice to express the will of the Heart.
