Gemmy Aquamarine Crystal w/ Big Rainbows + Fancy Termination & Aesthetic Etching + Seafoam color Medina pegmatite field, Pedra Azul, Brazil

This Crystal is an excellent example of the light colored prismatic Aquamarines that were found at the Medina Pegmatite field, Pedra Azul district in Brazil. The crystal is self standing on both ends. The top Termination has a nice flat apex surrounded by numerous faces. I believe there are at least 21 termination faces. It can be challenging to discern because most of the faces are etched and they blend together. The bottom of the crystal looks like it is polished flat, however, I can't confirm one way or the other (see photo #8 & the videos). This Aquamarine is of significant size. It weighs 12.325 grams / 61.625 carats and measures 32.78mm x 14.75mm x 12.96mm. The body is di-hexagonal, so there's not 6, but 12 prism faces on this crystal. I see a 13th skinny face, but I'm not sure if it is an actual second order prism face or the slight twinning of one. The c-axis is open, and exhibits the best color through that particular point of observation. The color of this crystal is a very light seafoam greenish blue. It is my opinion that the best features of this crystal are the form, clarity, and Rainbows! The rainbows are a result of an incredibly thin internal fracture line that runs through the middle of the crystal's length. This thin platform is probably the only thing that saved this crystal from being cut into gems. It can still be cut, but the stones would be smaller. These rainbows aren't well represented in the listing photos. I urge buyers to please watch the first facebook video to see just how large and impressive the Rainbows can be. I originally got this crystal for Metaphysical purposes. It works very well. The extra crystal faces and Rainbows give this crystal a certain Mystique that's Unique to my current Beryl collection. It is a powerful crystal. Most of the crystal faces have light etching, some of which are box-like (see photo #3). Even so, the luster is sub-vitreous, or oily and glassy in appearance. Many crystals that were found at this location were nearly colorless and heavy with inclusions / hollow tubes. This one does have some hollow growth tubes and inclusion near the bottom, but they're minimal and they add character to the crystal, rather than hindering the aesthetics as they usually would.
