This particular Herkimer Diamond crystal was discovered at a private claim in Fonda NY several years ago. It took several years for the original owner to finally release this crystal to us. This crystal literally dwarfs every other smoky Herkimer Diamond that we've owned; given an exception for the largest one that was discovered at the dig-site. The quality is excellent though. There are even some clean facet grade sections within this massive 539.5 gram / 2697.5 carat dark amber / root beer - hued smoky crystal. This Herkimer Diamond is far more impressive in person. It measures over 4 inches long and over 3 inches at max width. It has proportionately excellent dimensions which is classic for genuine Herkimer diamonds to have. One crystal face in particular is exceptionally larger than all the others. The face I'm referring to is the large 7 sided channeling face. Naturally this face is neighbored by a small 3 sided transmitter face. The large 7 sided face has an innumerable amount of raised trigonal record keeper etchings. It literally contains the most trigons I've seen on one crystal face. Photo #7 shows a small orange light reflection which exposes a small area of record keepers. Please refer to the facebook video to see coverage of the entire crystal face. In person, One will be able to see the elestial style pattern of pyramids that I speak of. They are uplifting and transcendental. This incredible Master Stone is doubly terminated. The bottom has a naturally concave termination that's micro-etched / healed. The penetrating bridge crystal is also fully terminated. This is a communication probe, also known as an "inner child" crystal. It serves as a bridge between worlds. The implications of this can be used for whatever the keeper wishes to bridge. This Master Stone has exceptional clarity for its size. Not only that, but the color is the best I've seen in any smoky Herkimer Diamond. It has a profound deep amber hue that's thoroughly present throughout the whole crystal. Different light settings and approaches are Key in unlocking the visual multitudes of this gem. When holding this Master Stone in front of a light source I'm able to see great depth and mystery within it. There are natural fractures inside of this crystal, which is pretty much guaranteed when a Herkimer Diamond gets this large. This is also a very old crystal. The size itself is a good indication that it predates the 500 million year age that's attributed to Herkimer Diamonds generally. The fractures, bubbles, and wispy inclusions work in unison, providing this crystal with light refractive capabilities. There are also some very nice Rainbows to be seen. As previously mentioned, different angles and light settings are key in unlocking those potentials. The vibration of this Master Stone is very strong. It has an "other-worldly" feel. I concur this to be the case with most Herkimer Diamond master crystals, however, this one pulsates Ascension Energy that's more powerful than anything I've felt in another Herkimer Diamond of this size. I speculate this has something to do with the crystal being a genuine smoky. It is my observation that nothing quite compares to the feeling I get when I look at these beautiful and dynamic Rainbows through the clear smoky body of this giant Herkimer Diamond.
