Long Etched Aquamarine Crystal RARE Locale; Muiâne pegmatite Emdal Mines, Alto Ligonha District, Zambezia Province, Mozambique - Terminated

This listing is for the exact Aquamarine crystal shown in the photos. This beautiful Aquamarine comes from the location of Muiâne pegmatite (Emdal Mines), Alto Ligonha District, Zambezia Province, Mozambique. Here is the URL to an official publication from Mindat for comparative purposes. https://www.mindat.org/locentry-143540.html - The Crystal measures 8cm x 1.7cm x 1.6cm and weighs 43.3 grams or 216.5 carats. This crystal can be made into cat's eye chatoyant cabochons, however it is more valuable as a specimen. It looks much better in person and is translucent with lillypad inclusions. The color is unique to my collection. It is a light but strongly saturated seawater blue that's somewhere in the Caribbean / cyan spectrum. It is somewhat of a light Turquoise crossed with cyan and teal green. Descriptively I find this one hard to nail down because of its utter uniqueness. This Aquamarine crystal is 100% Natural. Even the iron staining on the termination has been left intact. The iron staining gives character to this piece and also animates the amazing etchings on the top termination. This is technically a di-hexagonal crystal because there are more than 6 crystal faces on this cylindrical body. Such a fine Beryl this is. At first glance, two of my well seasoned colleagues actually thought it was a Tourmaline crystal. There is a small and nearly paper thin, clustered mass of Schorl black tourmaline riding on this aquamarine. I'm not 100% on that, it may be garnet or possibly another mineral? The crystal faces are finished with a very fine etching that gives a smooth, yet sparkly luster. The whole crystal is etched. The etched crystal faces give off that nice gleaming light reflection too! I plan on taking another video that better shows this feature. A little history on this particular piece. It was the very first Aquamarine crystal I purchased. Many years ago I got this from a collector and dealer who lives in South Africa. He and his friend would travel in a Jeep, meeting up with Bushmen and diggers, just wheeling and dealing to get their crystal specimens! This Mozambique Aqua cam directly from the digger, into the hands of the mine scout, then to me. It has since been displayed in our collection as a prized Beryl crystal of great integrity.
