This particular Aquamarine has been in my personal collection for a few years now. It is one of my favorites, and is without a doubt the most gemmy sky blue Namibian aquamarine in the collection. This piece weighs 12.8 grams / 64 carats and measures approximately 30mm x 17mm x 13.5mm. One thing that really sets this crystal apart from others from the region is Luster. The luster is glassy, and all throughout the crystal this can be seen. There are quite a bit of inclusions within, and they too refract a glassy appearance. The inclusions actually add character in my opinion. The clarity of the crystal is transparent to translucent. In all gem factors this is a great aquamarine crystal. It isn't facet grade, although it would make a killer cab, (please don't cut it). The termination is flat with little pits sparsely peppered atop. On the sides of the top, right beneath the termination, there are some tapered style droopy bevels. The termination is also modified at one area, via etching and natural contact. The bottom backside of the crystal has geometric contact areas and some concoidal spots as well. Hollow growth tubes / negative crystal growths can be observed inside of the crystal, beneath the facially modified region of the termination. Please watch the fb video and study the photos.
